Sizing the Pour From Lot Width, Not From the Garage Door
You probably start with the garage and ask how wide the pad can get. In Greenacres the answer starts at the lot line. A driveway on a single-family or two-family lot stays 5 ft off an interior side lot line, and the cumulative width of all driveways can't exceed 30 ft. Take off the setbacks and you'll see which limit wins. On a 75 ft wide interior lot, 65 ft is left after the two setbacks, so the 30 ft cap decides. On a 50 ft lot, 40 ft remains and the cap still decides. Only below a 40 ft frontage do the setbacks take over.
The Original Section, west of Haverhill Road, was platted with many small lots, so narrow frontages turn up there. For any concrete driveway in Greenacres, we tape the frontage at the estimate, read the 5 ft lines off your survey and write the allowed width into the quote. Our concrete contractors in Greenacres page covers the town rules, and the driveway service page covers the standard job. A 30 by 20 pad is 600 sq ft, so $4,200 to $7,800 at $7 to $13 per sq ft, with a free written estimate after we see the site.

Corner Lots: Two Streets, Fifteen Feet and the Sight Triangle
A concrete driveway in Greenacres on a corner lot loses more width than one on an interior lot. The side that faces the cross street keeps a 15 ft setback, not 5 ft, and the corner may have one access point on each street. No driveway may sit inside the sight-visibility triangle, the clear area at the corner that keeps drivers able to see each other. Where that triangle falls on your lot is a question for the Building Division, so show the corner on your sketch.
Run the numbers on a 60 ft wide corner lot. The setbacks take 5 ft on the interior side and 15 ft on the street side, so 40 ft of width remains, and the 30 ft cap again decides. Put a 12 ft single-car driveway on each street and the cumulative total is 24 ft. A 12 by 25 strip is 300 sq ft, so $2,100 to $3,900 at the same range, confirmed in a free written estimate after we see the site. A semicircular driveway needs a lot at least 100 ft wide, which rules it out on the 60 ft lot above.

What It Costs

Where a Car, a Trailer or a Boat May Legally Sit
For a concrete driveway in Greenacres, city code requires vehicles to park in a garage, in a carport or on a driveway that has been designed and permitted for that purpose. The one carve-out is a home originally built without an impervious driveway. That sentence changes how you plan a side pad. A slab poured only to park a trailer or a boat counts as a driveway, so it needs the permit, the 5 ft side setback and a place inside the 30 ft cumulative width. Pouring first and asking later is the expensive order: work without a permit costs four times the permit fee plus $100 for a first offense.
Plan the extra bay at the estimate. We draw the pad on the survey, check it against the width cap and the sodded strip along the side line, and write the permit steps into the quote. The setback strip has to remain sodded or planted, so the pour can't run all the way to the fence.

The Building Permit Route and What the Engineering Waiver Covers
The engineering code says a concrete driveway in Greenacres, like any driveway on private property or in a right-of-way, needs an engineering permit. It then treats one- and two-family driveways with a city building permit apart from that engineering permit, so the route runs through the Building Division at City Hall on Melaleuca Lane. Since April 15, 2026, applications go through the MGO online portal and email submittals are no longer accepted. The permit holder files there, and the quote we write lists what the file needs.
The fee is a $75 application fee, credited toward the permit, then 2.5 percent of construction value for work up to $100,000, with a $75 minimum. If the city values a pour at $8,000, the permit fee is $200 on that basis. A first re-inspection is $50. For Greenacres there is no HB 803 statement we can point you to, so check with the Building Division before assuming a small job can skip the file.

The Apron, the Sod Strip and the Worksheet Fees
The apron of a concrete driveway in Greenacres is the slab between the sidewalk and the street, and it lies in the city's right-of-way. An approved driveway building permit covers changes to the apron, so the apron rides on that permit; the Building Division has the final word. The adjacent owner maintains the strip, and any part not taken by the sidewalk, ribbon gutter or a permitted driveway must be sodded. Stones, boulders, pavers, mulch, artificial turf and faux plantings cannot replace sod in the right-of-way.
A separate engineering permit is required to alter a swale, ditch, culvert or canal. When Engineering reviews a right-of-way job, the city's worksheet lists a $75 administrative review fee and a one-hour inspection for a single residential driveway at $190. Ask the Building Division whether that worksheet applies to your permit before you budget for it.

Myakka Sand, Standing Water and Canal-Side Lots
Federal NRCS soil maps at 30 points inside the city show Myakka fine sand at 15, Basinger fine sand at 9 and Immokalee fine sand at 3, with single points of other sands. Under a concrete driveway in Greenacres, Myakka and Immokalee are poorly drained, with a water table that can rise to about 12 in. below the surface at its highest, and under Basinger to about 6 in. The federal ratings call every unit very limited for dwellings without basements. Flood zones put 29 of those 30 points in Zone X and one in Zone AE. So the base under a slab is compacted sand, the pitch moves water off the pad, and the quote checks your zone.
Lake Worth Drainage District canals, including the E-3 canal and laterals L-6 through L-15, cross the city. The District requires a permit before construction adjacent to a canal or in a canal right-of-way, so if your lot backs onto one, ask the District by name before the forms go up.
